What are the 3 Types of Artificial Intelligence?
Narrow AI, or Weak AI (ANI) General AI, or Strong AI, and (AGI) Artificial Superintelligence (ASI)
According to the capabilities of AI, they are classified into three categories, which are
Narrow AI (Weak AI): Definition: AI designed for specific tasks (e.g., language translation, image recognition). Capabilities: Highly effective within its specific domain but lacks general adaptability. Examples: Siri, Google Assistant, and recommendation systems. General AI (AGI): Definition: AI with human-like cognitive abilities, capable of performing any intellectual task a human can. Capabilities: Versatile and can transfer knowledge across different tasks. Status: Currently theoretical and not yet realized. Super Intelligent AI: Definition: AI that surpasses human intelligence in all areas, including creativity and problem-solving. Capabilities: Superior to the best human minds in every domain. Status: Hypothetical and speculative, with potential existential risks.
In essence, Narrow AI is widely used today, General AI is an ambitious future goal, and Super intelligent AI remains a theoretical concept with significant ethical and safety concerns.
As AI advances, concerns include: 1. Bias and Privacy: AI can reinforce biases and invade privacy. 2. Job Loss: Automation may displace workers. 3. Safety Risks: Potential for misuse and system failures. 4. Control: Ensuring AI aligns with human values is challenging. 5. Existential Risks: Advanced AI could pose serious risks if not managed well.
